DESCRIBING A PICTURE

·         Choose any  two pictures that you like , showing  a common theme (any theme will do) but try to find two/three  that are  very different in some way. This will give you a basis on which to compare and/or contrast the two pictures.

·         Remember to use a wide variety of structures and vocabulary and don't forget to use connectors to join your ideas.

·         Practise with these two/three photos writing what you would say about them. Remember that you need to talk for approx. three minutes so when you do this written exercise , make sure you say it aloud so that you don't exceed this time limit. The best way to get the timing right is to practise making short talks on various topics on your own. Remember to compare and contrast them  and  to give your personal feelings about them, make sure  that you leave some time for explaining your own views. It is also important to remember  that you do not have to describe them in detail. In fact, the pictures are just an excuse to talk about the theme .

·         Make sure you practise enough to be  confident when you present your description in front of your classmates . On this day, bring your pictures in a flash drive to be displayed on the OHP.  Use this website to create  a collage so that you present both pictures at the same time  http://web.photocat.com/ . Choose Create a Collage/ Upload your two/three pictures  and save it in your flash drive. As I am likely to publish the best  of them on the blog for everybody to have as a reference  , it would probably save time if you kindly  type your description in the computer .

You'll need to give your presentation on these dates . (it goes without saying you cannot read it; you need to learn it by heart :) )
