USED TO / WOULD

USE:

• When we talk about past habits, we can use  used to and would.

On winter days we used to / would sit  around the fire and tell stories
When I was a child, my sister used /would  take to the cinema every Sunday.

• But , when we talk about past states, we can only use "used to" not "would"

             My great granddad  used to be a  baker ( not : My great granddad would be..)
             I used to wear glasses when I was younger. (NOT: I would wear...)
