USED is pronounced : /ju:st/

USE:

USED+TO is  used to talk about

1. Past habits which are now finished.

Imagine that when you were younger you played chess, or football... and now  you don´t play it any more.This is when we use the form "used to".

I used to play football when I was younger. = it implies that now you don´t play.

2. Past states and situations which are no longer true.

Imagine that when you were younger, you were fat.

             I used to be very fat when I was at school

. ..Or that you had a beautiful bicycle you were very proud of

             I used to have a beautiful bicycle everybody envied but somebody stole it
